How does stage 1 of the course work?

• September 7th, 2026-May 30th, 2027

• Integrated study and assessment

• 9 months divided into 8-week learning blocks

• 1 learning block = 5 study weeks + 3 TP focused weeks

• Break week after each learning block

• 10-15 guided study hours per week.

• Weekly seminar during study weeks

• Regular 1-1 TP planning and preparation consultations

• Detailed tutor guidance and feedback for all assignments and course work

• Working in small cohorts of up to 10 teachers

• We really get to know you as teachers and as people

• Experienced, responsive and supportive tutors

• Take your unit 3 and unit 4 exam at end of stage 1

How does teaching practice (TP) work?

Teach your assessed lessons with your own class.

Online lessons and face-to-face classes possible.

Apply the knowledge and skills from the course to your own unique context.

1 diagnostic lesson + 4 assessed lessons

TP is spaced out over the 9 months of stage 1
