How can we make sure conversation classes are more than just a chat?

Students often express a desire for more work on conversation. They can take whole courses in schools or one-to-one classes seeking to improve their English conversation ability. Demand is high for such classes, but are we demanding too little of our students in them? How can we stop it becoming little more than a chat with some delayed error correction tacked on?

This workshop will look at how we can employ a direct approach to improving our students’ ability to manage and develop conversations in English.
